Chiropractor

Dr. Paul Paez D.C.

“I’m one of those people fortunate enough to have grown up in the small-town Encinitas of the 1980s.

Born and raised in New Jersey, when he was 11 years old, Dr. Paez’s entire family relocated to Encinitas, California knowing that the better weather would improve his father’s challenged health.  Dr. Paez attended elementary, junior high and high school in Encinitas, and is now enrolling his son in some of these same schools.

After obtaining his Associates Degree in Chemistry and becoming  a Certified  Massage Therapist, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend the excellent Life Chiropractic University (LCU).

“Life University’s 90-acre campus in Marietta, Georgia is the largest and arguably the most beautiful and best equipped in the profession…”  It has been written that LCU has “set the standard of excellence in contemporary health care education.”  Since 1974 LCU has become the largest educational institution serving the chiropractic profession, with many thousands of graduates.

Dr. Paez’s chiropractic education at LCU taught him mastery of a wide range of adjusting techniques, such as:

Palmer Method       Activator

Thompson Drop      Gonsted

Network Spinal Analysis (NSA)      Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP)

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)      Extremity Adjusting

Pediatric Adjusting                                Diversified Full Spine

Over the years during, and since his chiropractic education, Dr. Paez has acquired multiple skills and methods for the improvement of human health, at all ages. He has a unique ability to individually tailor his care, for each patient that walks through the doors of his chiropractic center.

Dr. Paez has devoted over 15 years to bettering the health and quality of life of his community and family members. Chiropractor

Dr. Pia Martin D.C., CCN

Born in the United Kingdom and raised in Australia, Dr. Martin has traveled the world, including extensive time in India where she studied Yoga with one of the Masters, BKS Iyengar.

Martin’s path to a career in chiropractic medicine was a complete work-life transition, which began after a 15-year successful business career within the cruise industry. Her complete career transition from business executive to a health and wellness professional stemmed from her personal need and desire to adjust her life from one of less-than-ideal levels of health and contentment to that of wellness and balance. The lasting and ongoing influence of Yoga early in her life was and continues to be a driving force behind her career as a talented and caring natural health healer. It was through her own experience and her mantra of, “Invest in your health so you won’t spend on your sickness” that she learned and developed an integrated approach to health care. “In my experience, most people are not fully aware of the true meaning of wellness. It is not just having a positive mental state or just being physically fit. The two must be at their optimal state for each individual in order for them to feel fully alive and balanced,” says Martin. “It is a process, though, and I make sure each client realizes there are no over-night fixes, but that it is a gradual evolution of their mind, body, and spirit.”

Taking care of one’s physical core is essential to the success of achieving total balance; therefore, the center of Martin’s treatment plans for clients focus on the important need for professional chiropractic care and adjustments.  With her mission to ensure each of her clients feels understood, strengthened and renewed, Martin serves as a guide as they make their journey towards optimal health. Through the use of cutting-edge chiropractic equipment and technology, advanced nutritional testing, and offering whole food supplements, Martin ensures the highest in quality natural care for her clients.

Acupuncturist

Josephine Salman, L.Ac

In traditional Chinese medicine, health results form a harmonious balance between the complementary extremes (yin and yang) of the life force known as qi or chi. Qi is believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. These meridians and the energy flow are accessible through more than 350 acupuncture points. Illness results from an imbalance of the forces. By inserting needles into these points in various combinations, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will rebalance.

Many Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation appears to boost the activity of your body's natural painkillers and increase blood flow.

Acupuncture therapy usually involves a series of weekly or biweekly treatments done right here in our office.  Before the needles are placed, you'll lie down on a comfortable surface. Depending on where the needles are to go, you will lie facedown, faceup or on your side.  Josephine will use single-use sterile packaged needles. You may feel a brief, sharp sensation when the needle is inserted, but generally the procedure isn't painful.

Dr. Paez has had many patients return for acupuncture because of reported improvement from their sinus congestion, chronic joint pain and increase in sense of well-being.

Massage Therapist

Arianna

Specializing in: Deep Tissue and Trigger point

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.  Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. Massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.

In our office we integrate massage with your chiropractic care so you experience longer lasting benefits from your chiropractic adjustment.
